ROSE OF THE YEAR 2003
A strong, bushy shrub bearing clusters of cupped, semi-double, slate blue flowers with a powerful fragrance, reminiscent of apples. Blooms start purplish-blue and fade to slate blue as they age. Taller than average and the closest yet to a blue rose. RHS AWARD FOR GARDEN MERIT. Introduced in 2003.
