ONCE-FLOWERING HISTORIC ROSE; CRIMSON/PINK
An enormous display of crimson striped, streaked and splashed with light pink semi-double flowwers in mid-summer.
This attractive gallica shrub is the oldest of all striped roses and has flowers of pale pink splashed with crimson, which appear in mid-summer. Can be used as a low hedge. First mentioned in 1581 in The Garden Book by Thomas Hanmer and was originally found in Norfolk 'upon a branch of the common red rose'.
