Patio and Miniature Roses from our rose nurseries in Hampshire & Cornwall

An ideal and permanent alternative to bedding plants. Low growing and compact, yet robust and flowering all summer. Popular for growing in containers.
Miniature roses: We are grateful to Tony Whatley from Wessex Nurseries, Wiltshire, for passing on his stock of miniature roses for us to take care of when he retired. Miniature roses are naturally dwarf roses reaching 30-35cm in height. In the 1800s they became very popular for a brief period then faded into obscurity for over 100 years before a specimen was rediscovered, supposedly in a Swiss window box. One man who has had a profound impact on miniature roses is Ralph S Moore (1907-2009), a Californian rosarian who bred more than 500 new varieties during a career spanning 70 years .Today, we are growing many of Mr Moore’s varieties and we will be making them available over time when we have healthy stock levels.

Patio roses: fall between a miniature and a floribunda in character. They are larger and more robust than miniatures, often having charming rosette flowers and neat, bushy growth. They are hardy and repeat well.
